Notes About Oats

Remember to get gluten free oats, and just a note that we are not a fan of Burts Bees gluten free oats.

Wheat Flour

Whatever you do, do NOT use white bleached white flour. Here is an article that teaches you what goes into the commercial methods of stripping away ALL the nutrients from white flour so the only thing that is left is starch.

First the seeds are treated with a fungicide, they are then sprayed with hormones and pesticides. Even the bins are coated with insecticides.

And if even one bug appears, they FUMIGATE the grain.

Then they add MORE chemicals to the flour using a chlorine gas bath (chlorine oxide) to bleach the floor. Even the EPA recognized that chlorine gas is an irritant, dangerous to inhale, and lethal. Of course since the EVIL CORPORATIONS control the government, they are allowed to use these toxins in our food.

If you thought that was end of all the chemicals they use on white flour, think again.

They also use oxides of nitrogen, nitrosyl, and benzoyl peroxide mixed with various chemical salts.

What is left over after all the bleaching?

Something called ” alloxan.”

Alloxan is a product of the decomposition of uric acid. It is a poison that is used to produce diabetes. Alloxan causes diabetes because it increases the enormous amounts of free radicals in pancreatic beta cells which then destroys them.

The REAL mills from many years ago ground the flour slowly, but today due to mass production, they use high temperatures and high speed steel rollers.

Bleaching and oxidizing agents weren’t developed to produce quick aging of wheat flour until the early 1900s. Prior to that, it required several months for oxygen to condition flour naturally. This is why eating bread prior to the early 1900’s was never a problem for us.

Despite the pleas from a doctor named Dr. W. Wiley MD, the law that enforced NO bleaching flour was never enforced.

Using any kind of wheat flour is harmful to the body because over time they changed the natural component of “wheat” due to using chemicals in the processing of the wheat,  As common sense suggests, trying to play around with Mother Nature ruined the glutenous part of the plant, and this is why many people can’t handle ingesting wheat. In fact most people think that wheat is a problem ONLY for celiacs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Wheat is harmful to the brain in every human whether you notice the symptoms or not.

Some of the symptoms are:

  1. Memory or brain fog issues.
  2. Inflammation of all parts of the body.
  3. Hyperactivity. Once you eliminate gluten from your child’s diet, you should notice an improvement in their concentration and their ability to be able to sit still. Of course you have to eliminate sugar (the drug) as well.

So what do you use to replace wheat flour when baking?

You can use coconut, amaranth, or quinoa flour.

Notes: Because coconut flour has no gluten in it, you need to use eggs (one egg for every ounce of coconut flour) to bind the ingredients together.  As for amaranth flour, it is very dense, so it’s a good idea to use other flours along side it.

Replacing toxic refined sugar

You can use certain fruits to replace processed refined sugar. Fruits such as bananas, mangoes, papayas, or dried dates pureed with water.

It is recommended you substitute one-quarter cup of pureed fruit for one half cup of sugar. And because fruit has a higher water content, you will also need to reduce the liquid in your recipes by around a quarter cup.

You can also use vegetables that have a lot of sugar content in them such as beets, avocados, and squash. Pastry chef Marissa Churchill who is the author of the recipe book, “Sweet & Skinny“, suggests you add two-thirds of a cup of finely grated raw beets to your recipe which will reduce the sugar by a quarter cup. You will probably have to play around with your recipes, as that suggestion is for her brownie recipe.

As another alternative to refined sugar, you can use natural sweeteners such as stevia, Luo Han Guo, or xylitol. We personally don’t like the taste of stevia, but you might.

And your last alternative can be pure glucose (dextrose) which is 50% fructose is less damaging to your body than processed refined sugar. We think using fruits or vegetables is a cleaner choice.

As you use less sugar in your food or baked items, your palette will eventually adjust so you become satisfied with the level of sweetness from the pureed fruits and vegetables.

Whatever you do, do NOT use artificial sweeteners, they are even more toxic than refined sugar.

There are several comments to this dandelion recipe where one woman added chia and hemp seeds in hers, so we always recommend reading the comments.
